Name: Christoph Philips
Position: Project Manager, Technician
ic! berliner since: 2007
What were you doing before you came to work at ic! berlin?
I was working for myself as a master carpenter building roofs and houses.
Why did you apply to work at ic! berlin? Why did you want to work here?
I am incredibly curious and pretty technically literate; I love sketches and technical sketches and then turning them into real things. Everything from big houses to tiny objects, from meters to millimetres fascinates me. I was actually headhunted by ic! berlin and left my own company to come work here.
What do you find special about Berlin?
Berlin is big, green, wild, and beautifully unstylish – everyone is accepted here as they are.
What is your favourite smell?
What would your fantasy pet be?
A puma, but not as a pet, rather, just as a “cat” that came and went as he pleased.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
BONUS QUESTION: would you rather fight against 100 duck-sized horses or one horse-sized duck?
Against one horse-sized duck. You only need one good hit and he’s down. Or just keep running cirlces around him until he twists and breaks his neck (bow and arrow would work too). Besides, a roast duck tastes better than a roast horse, and it would be massive!
