MailChimp uses this information to distribute and evaluate newsletters on our behalf. Furthermore, according to its own information MailChimp may use this data to optimise or improve its own services, e.g. for the technical optimisation of the distribution and display of the newsletters, or for economic purposes to determine the countries of origin of the recipients. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to contact them or to transmit the data to third parties.

MailChimp is obliged to adhere to the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework for the collection, use and storage of personal data from the EU. Statistical information and analyses

The newsletters contain a so-called “web beacon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. During this retrieval, technical information is initially collected such as information about your browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval. This information is used for the technical improvement of the services based on technical data or target groups and their reading habits on the basis of their retrieval locations (determined through the IP address) or access times.

Statistical information also includes information about whether newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. These evaluations help us to identify the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.

7. Cookies and web analyses

To make the visit to our website more attractive and to enable certain features, to display suitable products, or for market research, we apply so-called cookies on various pages. This serves to safeguard our predominantly legitimate interests within the framework of a balancing of interests in displaying our offer in an optimal manner pursuant to point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR. Your browser can be set to inform you whenever cookies are stored, to allow acceptance of certain cookies only, to allow cookies in certain cases, or to refuse them outright. Each browser differs in the way it manages cookie settings. This is described in the help menu of every browser, where explanations exist which inform you how to alter your cookie settings. When using Google Analytics (see below), this website also uses the so-called DoubleClick cookie, which enables your browser to be recognised when you visit other websites. The information automatically generated by the cookie concerning your visit of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The IP address is shortened by activating IP anonymisation on this website before transmitting information within the member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The anonymised IP address transmitted by your browser within the framework of Google Analytics will not be amalgamated with any other data of Google.

Google will use this information to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services relating to the use of the website. This serves to safeguard our predominantly legitimate interests within the framework of a balancing of interests in marketing our websites in an optimal manner pursuant to point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR. If legally required, or where third parties process such data on behalf of Google, Google will also transmit this information to third parties. After the purpose ceases to exist, and at the end of our use of Google DoubleClick the data collected for these purposes will be deleted.

Google DoubleClick is a service of Google Ireland Limited, a company incorporated and operated under Irish law with registered office at Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (www.google.de).

You can deactivate the DoubleClick cookie through this link. Further information concerning the setting of cookies is provided by the Digital Advertising Alliance, where you also can make settings. Finally, your browser can be set to inform you whenever cookies are stored, to allow acceptance of certain cookies only, to allow cookies in certain cases, or to refuse them outright. If cookies are not accepted, the functionality of our websites may be restricted.

Use of Google (Universal) Analytics for web analyses

This website uses Google (Universal) Analytics for website analyses. Website analysis is a service of Google Ireland Limited, a company incorporated and operated under Irish law with registered office at Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (www.google.de).This serves to safeguard our predominantly legitimate interests within the framework of a balancing of interests in displaying our offer in an optimal manner pursuant to point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR. Google (Universal) Analytics uses methods that allow analysis of the use of the website by you, such as cookies.

Google will use the information obtained from cookies on our behalf to evaluate the use of our websites, compile reports on website activity and provide other services relating to the use of the website and the internet. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website such as

• browser type/version,

• operating system in use,

• referrer URL (the previously visited page),

• host name of the accessing computer (IP address),

• time of the server request,

are transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Further information can be found in Google Analytics’ data privacy statement. By activating IP anonymisation on this website the IP address will be shortened before any transmission within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. As a matter of principle, the anonymised IP address transmitted by your browser within the framework of Google Analytics will not be amalgamated with any other Google data. After the purpose ceases to exist, and at the end of our use of Google Analytics the data collected for these purposes will be deleted.

Where information is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers located in the USA, the American company Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield. An up-to-date certificate can be viewed here. In view of the agreement between the USA and the European Commission, the latter has established a reasonable level of data protection for the companies which are certified by the Privacy Shield.

You can prevent the collection of the data created by the cookie and related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) as well as the processing of such data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

As an alternative to the browser plugin, you can click on <a href=""javascript:gaOptout()"">this link</a>to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data from this website in the future. An opt-out cookie is then stored on your terminal device. If you delete your cookies, you must click on the link again.

In addition, this website uses Google Signals. This is an extended function of Google Analytics that enables so-called “cross-device tracking”. This means that if your internet-enabled devices are linked to your Google account, Google may generate reports on usage habits (especially cross-device user numbers) even if you switch your terminal device. Google will use data for this purpose if you have activated the setting “personalised advertising” in your Google account.

This serves to safeguard our predominantly legitimate interests within the framework of a balancing of interests in displaying our offer in an optimal manner pursuant to point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR.

We do not process any personal data, we only receive statistics based on Google Signals.

You can deactivate the “personalised advertising” setting at any time in your Google account, thereby objecting to the collection by Google Signals.

Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager on our website. Google Tag Manager is a service of Google Ireland Limited, a company incorporated and operated under Irish law with registered office at Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (www.google.de).

Google Tag Manager helps us to embed various codes and services into our website in an organised and simplified way. Google Tag Manager implements the tags or triggers the embedded tags. When a tag is triggered, Google may process information (including personal data). In these instances, it may be the case that Google also transmits the information to a server in a third country.

In case of deactivation on domain or cookie level, it remains in effect for all tracking tags that were implemented using Google Tag Manager.

You can find detailed information concerning Google’s data processing in Google’s data privacy statements.

Google Analytics Remarketing

We integrate Google Remarketing on this website, a service of Google Ireland Limited, a company incorporated and operated under Irish law with registered office at Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (www.google.de).Google Remarketing is a Google AdWords feature that enables companies to display advertisements to internet users who have previously visited these companies’ websites. The integration of Google Remarketing therefore allows a company to create user-relevant advertisements and consequently to display advertisements of interest to the internet user.

The purpose of Google Remarketing is to display advertisements that are relevant to your interests. Google Remarketing helps us to display advertisements through the Google advertising network or on other websites that are tailored to the individual needs and interests of internet users.

Google Remarketing sets a cookie in your system. Setting the cookie enables Google to recognize visitors to our website who subsequently visit websites that are also members of the Google advertising network. Every time you visit a website in which the Google Remarketing service is embedded, your internet browser automatically identifies itself to Google. As part of this technical operation, Google gains knowledge of personal data, such as your IP address or surfing habits, which Google uses, among other things, to display advertisements relevant to your interests.

The cookie is used to store personal data, such as the websites visited by you. Accordingly, each time you visit our website, personal data, including your IP address, is transmitted to Google in the United States of America. This personal data is stored by Google in the United States of America. Google may share this personal data collected through the technical operation with third parties.

The processing is carried out on the basis of point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR out of the legitimate interest in targeted advertising and the analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency of this advertising.

You can prevent the setting of cookies by our website at any time as described above by means of a corresponding setting of the used web browser and thus permanently object to the setting of cookies. Such a setting of the used internet browser would also prevent Google from setting a cookie on your IT system. In addition, a cookie already set by Google Analytics can be deleted at any time through the internet browser or other software programs.

Furthermore, you have the possibility to object to advertising relevant to your interests by Google. To do this, you have to click on the link www.google.de/settings/ads in each internet browser used and make the required settings there.

More information and Google's current privacy policy can be found at https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.

The personal data processed by Google may also be used in conjunction with each other to create tracking profiles.

Facebook Pixel, custom audiences

On our website we use the so-called “Facebook Pixel”, a service of Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA (“Facebook”). This operation is used to evaluate the effectiveness of Facebook advertisements for statistical and market research purposes and can help to optimise future advertising measures. The data collected is anonymous to us and does not provide us with any information about the identity of the user. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Facebook may use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook data usage policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/). You can enable Facebook and its affiliates to place advertisements inside and outside of Facebook. Furthermore, a cookie may also be stored for these purposes on your computer.

You may object to the data collection through “Facebook Pixel” at any time here.

Facebook is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield. An up-to-date certificate can be viewed here. In view of the agreement between the USA and the European Commission, the latter has established a reasonable level of data protection for the companies which are certified by the Privacy Shield. More information about Facebook’s data processing policy can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy notices (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/).

8. Advertisements

Google Ads Remarketing

We advertise this website in the Google search results as well as on third-party websites through Google Ads. When you visit our website, the so-called remarketing cookie is set by Google, which automatically enables interest-relevant advertising by means of a pseudonymised cookie ID and on the basis of the pages you visit. This serves to safeguard our predominantly legitimate interests within the framework of a balancing of interests in marketing our website in an optimal manner pursuant to point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR. After the purpose ceases to exist, and at the end of our use of Google Ads Remarketing the data collected for these purposes will be deleted.

Any further processing will only take place if you have consented to Google linking your web and app browser history to your Google account and using information from your Google account to personalise advertisements you see on the web. If in this case you are logged in to Google during your visit of our website, Google will use your information in conjunction with Google Analytics data to create and define target audience lists for cross-device remarketing purposes. Google will temporarily link your personal data with Google Analytics data in order to form target groups.

Google Ads is a service of Google Ireland Limited, a company incorporated and operated under Irish law with registered office at Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (www.google.de).

You can deactivate the remarketing cookie through this link. Further information concerning the setting of cookies is provided by the Digital Advertising Alliance, where you also can make settings.

Google Adwords conversion tracking

To compile statistics about the use of our website and to analyse the data in order to optimise our website for you, we also use Google Conversion Tracking, a service of Google Ireland Limited, a company incorporated and operated under Irish law with registered office at Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (www.google.de).

Google Adwords places a cookie on your computer, if you reached our website through a Google advertisement. These cookies become invalid after 30 days and do not serve the purpose of personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of the website of Adwords customers and if the cookie has not expired yet, Google and the customer may recognise that the user has clicked on the advertisement and was forwarded to this page. Every Adwords customer receives a different cookie. It is thus impossible to track cookies through the websites of Adwords customers. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics for Adwords customers who have opted for conversion tracking.

The processing is carried out on the basis of point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR out of the legitimate interest in the analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency of our website. In this respect, Adwords customers receive information on the total number of users who clicked on their advertisement and have been forwarded to a website with a conversion tracking tag. They do not, however, receive any information which can be used for the personal identification of users.

If you do not want to take part in the tracking process, you may reject the placing of the cookie necessary for that purpose – e.g. by making the relevant settings in your browser which generally deactivate the automatic setting of cookies.

You may also deactivate cookies for conversion tracking by making the browser settings such that cookies will be blocked by the “www.googleadservices.com” domain. Google’s data privacy statement on conversion tracking is available here (https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html).

Google Fonts

The script code “Google Fonts” is embedded in this website. Google Fonts is a service of Google Ireland Limited, a company incorporated and operated under Irish law with registered office at Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (www.google.de). This serves to safeguard our predominantly legitimate interests within the framework of a balancing of interests in displaying our content in a consistent manner on our website pursuant to point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR. Within this framework, a connection is established between the browser you use and the Google servers. Google therefore knows that our website has been accessed through your IP address.

You can find detailed information concerning Google’s data processing in Google’s data privacy statements.

9. Other services

Google Maps

We use the Google Maps service on our website. Google Maps is a service of Google Ireland Limited, a company incorporated and operated under Irish law with registered office at Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (www.google.de).

This allows us to display interactive maps, such as the Shopfinder, directly on the website, offering you a comfortable use of the website. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR. By visiting the website, Google receives information that you have accessed the corresponding subpage of our website. To use the Google Maps features, it is necessary to store your IP address. This information is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA. Google stores your data as user profiles and uses the information for purposes of advertising, market research and/or the adequate design of its website. The analysis is carried out in particular (also for users who are not logged in to Google) to provide adequate advertising and to inform other users in social networks about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles. To exercise your right to object, please contact Google.

You can find detailed information concerning Google’s data processing in Google’s data privacy statements.

10. Social media

Our online presence on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Xing, LinkedIn

Our presence in social networks and on platforms serves to offer improved, active communication with our customers and interested parties. There, we inform you of our products and regular promotions.

When you visit our online presences in social media, your data may be collected and stored automatically for market surveys and advertising purposes. Using pseudonyms, so-called usage profiles are generated from this data. This may be used to place advertisements inside and outside the platforms which are assumed to correspond to your interests. To this end, cookies are implemented on your terminal device. These cookies store customer habits and interests. This serves to safeguard our predominantly legitimate interests within the framework of a balancing of interests in marketing our offer in an optimal manner and communicating effectively with our customers and interested parties pursuant to point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR. If you are asked by the corresponding social media platform for your consent (approval) to data processing, for example with the aid of a checkbox, the legal basis for processing is point (a) of Art. 6(1) GDPR.

If the aforementioned social media platforms are based in the USA, the following applies: a European Commission adequacy decision is available for the USA, which is based on the EU-US Privacy Shield. An up-to-date certificate for the relevant company can be viewed here.
