Two German design icons combine their creativity and sense of precision for the second time: the Berlin-based eyewear manufacturer ic! berlin is launching an energetic and elegant eyewear collection for 2022 in cooperation with Mercedes-Benz.
On January 15, 2022, the collection consisting of 4 models will be released.
Developed for the first time, the corrective eyewear combines the purist-elegant design ic! berlin is known for with sensual lines inspired by the flowing aesthetics of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. With regard to the color spectrum, the designers have been influenced by the Mercedes-Benz EQ vehicles. The light and flexible design convinces with extraordinary comfort and appears very dynamic thanks to the 0.6 millimeter thin but extremely robust stainless steel.
What remains unique is the innovative, screwless hinge system specially developed by ic! berlin – an avant-garde design that turns an individual look into a way of life. Stylish branding is provided by a discreet, laser-engraved Mercedes-Benz star on the hinge element.
MB 07: Sporty meets elegance
In the MB07 model, the front appears round and sporty despite its medium-sized, rectangular shape. The design of these glasses is characterized in particular by the reduction to essential subtle design elements – these guarantee absolute wearing comfort and complete the personal style of the wearer.
MB 08: Striking statement glasses for every day
With its striking rectangular lens shape and its bridge set at the top, the MB 08 model is an elegant eye-catcher. The front exudes an architectural determination that combines subtle elements to form a stylish unit. A design statement for everyday use.
MB 09: comfortable and individually adjustable lightweight
The model with a wide frame and medium glass is rectangular in shape with rounded, flat edges and a higher overall width. Thanks to the universally adjustable nose pads and individually adjustable stainless steel temples, it can be perfectly adjusted to the face. The TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomers) temple ends are also adjustable and have been newly designed for this collection. Together with the temples and nose pads, the frame fits securely and is comfortable to wear thanks to the lightweight stainless steel.
MB 10: Refined, almost weightless design
The model inspires with elegant details, such as the iconic 6-millimeter slim, screwless hinge temple. In addition, the frame appears particularly light despite its large, striking rectangular shape – the subtle rim allows the glass to literally float in the frame. Elegant accents are provided by the Mercedes-Benz star pattern lasered onto the temple and the gold hinge clip on a matte black frame. The perfectly adjustable temples ensure comfortable wearing of the eyewear frame.
Each of the four models is available in the color combinations Black, Pearl, Gun-Metal and Electric-Powder-Blue – inspired by the color language of the Mercedes-Benz EQ series, such as the fine LED accents of the EQ interiors.
